Duchesne, UT-June Marie "Mickie' Holper (nee Wilson) succumbed to a heart attack Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at home in Duchesne, Utah, at 83 yrs of age.
Born March 9, 1931, to Junius & Winnifred (Hansen) Wilson in Salt Lake City Utah. Marie grew up at the Escalante family town home. She moved to Salt Lake to be with her mother as a teenager & then moved to many places while her life experiences broadened. She lived in areas of Utah, California, Iowa, Missouri, Texas, Nevada but always returned to Utah.
Marie had many passions in life. Family being the most important. Education & Temple work were also very important to her. Her latest project was family geneology. She liked to present a positive outlook, to be independent & to be happy. She loved us, each & everyone, as we love her & will miss her greatly.
Survived by husband of 36 years, Paul Holper, who she married on 4/1/1978 at the St George LDS Temple in Utah, children Jerry Kurowski (Rulying) of Sacramento CA, Lynn Simpson (Bob) of Jefferson City MO, Pam Davis of Sacramento CA, Sheli Harris (James) of San Jose CA, ex-son & daughter-in-law Buddy Davis of Sacramento CA & Dawn Russell (Blaine) of Idaho Falls ID, step children Linda Carraway of Roanoke VA, Laura Adams (Tracy) of Ephraim UT, Mike Holper (Kathy) of Mililani HI, & Melissa Holper, 21 grandchildren & 24 great-grandchildren; sisters Grace North of Victoria BC & Rae Hill of Salt Lake City UT, sister-in-laws LaRae Wilson of South Jordan UT & Donna Jean Wilson of Boulder UT, brothers Russel (Linda) Wilson of Springville UT & Ray Reynolds of Sacramento CA & many numerous nieces & nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, brothers Charles & Bruce, brothers-in-law Bob North & Ricky Hill, ex-husbands Bob Brown & Ed Kurowski.
Funeral services were held 6/28/14 with burial at the Duchesne City Cemetery. Donations are requested for burial expenses to Paul Holper, PO Box 402, Duchesne UT 84021.
