LaCoy Wardle, 91, passed away in his home, surrounded by his family, on Independence Day, July 4th, 2014. He was born October 10, 1922 to Charles Lyman and Orel Ann Holt Wardle. He was the 5th of 9 children. He married his life-long sweetheart, Rayola Green Wardle, on August 27, 1949. Their marriage later solemnized in the Logan Temple on January 19, 1963. Together they are the parents of 4 wonderful children.
Coy was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and lived a humble life led by the gospel. He was employed and retired from Hercules Powder Company, but his heart was in farming, as he loved to work the land. He was proud of his Pioneer Heritage, and his family was his most cherished possession. He was a shining example of honesty, virtue, hardwork, love and humility. He left behind a wonderful legacy that will be cherished.
Coy is survived by his children; Craig (Eileen) Wardle, Brad (Teri) Wardle, Desi (Cliff) Nielsen, and Kerri (Raymond) Lambert; 21 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren; and his brother Ned (Janet) Wardle.
He was preceded in death by his sweet wife, Rayola; his parents Charles Lyman and Orel Ann Wardle; his brothers, Harold, Wen, Ken, Paul, and sisters Rose, Margie, and Jean.
The family would like to thank all those who so lovingly cared for Coy. A special thank you to Travis, Ofa and Sharon.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 10th, 11:00 am at the South Jordan Stake Center, 2450 West, South Jordan Parkway. There will be a viewing Wednesday, July 9th, 6:00-8:00 pm and Thursday, one hour prior, at the same location. Interment at South Jordan City Cemetery.
