DeAna Mickelsen Webster Obituary
DeAna Mickelsen Webster
1938 ~ 2014
Our dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, DeAna Mickelsen Webster, died peacefully Monday, July 7, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was 76.
DeAna was born January 24, 1938 to Orson Andrew and Leda Mickelsen ("Mother" and "Daddy") of Draper. The second of two daughters, she had a wonderful childhood growing up with her sister Kaye in a home where she was loved and taught timeless values including hard work, honesty, integrity, and frugality. Like many in Draper at the time, she worked in the family business, Draper Poultryman, founded by her father and his brothers. DeAna was so proud to be a Mickelsen and instilled in her children the importance of honoring the family name.
DeAna graduated from Utah State with a degree in Early Childhood Development. She married Richard Dixon in 1961. Together they had 4 sons. She was the perfect mother to her boys, teaching the same values she learned from her parents while letting them scrape their knees, make messes, and experience life. More importantly, she taught her boys to love their Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
In 1983, DeAna married Dennis Verl Webster. Together for more than 30 years, DeAna and Denny loved serving together. They completed two missions for the LDS Church (SLC inner-city and Washington D.C. temple) and spent years serving in the Jordan River Temple. She leaves a legacy of temple worship and service to her family. DeAna will be missed, but we're forever grateful for the life and legacy she leaves behind.
DeAna is survived by her loving husband Dennis Webster, her four sons Mark (Patty) Dixon, Steve (Lisa) Dixon, Brent (Kirsten) Dixon), Scott Dixon, step-children Stacey (Kevin) Belcher and Tim (Laura) Webster, seventeen grandchildren, one great grand daughter, her sister Kaye (Don) Budge, and many other friends and family.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 11, 2014 at 11 am at the LDS chapel on 420 E. Stokes Avenue (13540 South) in Draper. Viewings will be held Thursday, July 10 from 6-8 pm at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State St. in Sandy and before the service on Friday at the church, from 10-10:45 am.
