Karen Carroll, 61, lovingly referred to as "Grandma Best", made the courageous decision to leave her sick and tired body on July 12th, to return to the arms of her loving parents.
With the immense and unwavering love of her family and friends, and the guidance of an amazing team of medical professionals, she bravely lived the challenges of her last five years of life with passionate dedication to creating valuable memories by sharing her stories, laughs, and never-ending fun with her grandchildren. Her strength, courage, and facing adversity without complaint will be a source of inspiration to everyone who knew her.
Due to complications from ovarian cancer, her next journey started on July 12th, at her home in Eagle Mountain, Utah, with her entire family at her side.
She is survived by her devoted and caring husband of 44 years, Lou Carroll, her daughters Juliet Conklin (Greg) and Andrea Carroll, and son Sean Carroll (Christy). She was able to see the birth of her grandsons Caden and Cillian, the marriage of her grandson Britton (Haylee), the high school graduation of her grandson Beau, a ballet recital of her granddaughter Kaitlyn, and her two beautiful granddaughters Mesa and Lia will continue to sing and dance under the trees in the backyard where Karen grew up as a child.
Karen was the only child of her parents Harold Duke (Grandpa Duke) and Alice Marvella (Grandma Cindy) Stevens of Heber City, Utah.
We invite her family and friends to join us for a Celebration of Karen's life on Friday, July 25th at The Gathering Place in Gardner Village, 1100 W 7800 S, West Jordan, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.
