Barbara Jean Orten Williams
October 14, 1929 - July 22, 2014
Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully, surrounded by her husband and family members. She was born in Portland, Oregon to Frank Orten and Emma Gertrude Walton. She graduated from Twin Falls High school and later went on to graduate form the Univ. of Utah School of Nursing. She married Lee Reese Williams on April 10, 1950, and was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple June 11, 1952. She worked at the LDS Hospital as a head operating room nurse until she retired. She had a love for the temple and family history work, a love of music, and served as ward organist for more than 40 years. She loved cooking family dinners, going on family activities like skiing, family vacations, studying the scriptures and knitting. Later in life she served an LDS mission, with her husband, as secretary to the Pres in the Cleveland Ohio Mission. Upon returning she was called as the ward Relief Society Pres and other callings in the church. She is survived by her husband Lee, of 64 years, James (Linda Johnson), Christie (Daniel Faust), David deceased (Linda Slagowski), Pamela (Stephen Miller), Carolyn (James Berrett) and 80 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a brother Wesley Frank Orten. She wants each family member to know that she loves each of them. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother James Orten. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 28th, 11:00 a.m. at the Westland 6th Ward, 7265 S. 2700 W. West Jordan with a viewing 10:00 - 10:45 prior. A family viewing will be held Sunday from 6 - 8 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 So. Redwood Rd. Interment will be at the Redwood Memorial Cemetery.
