Lynn Thomas Anderson Obituary
Lynn T. Anderson
1/25/1936 ~ 7/25/2014
Salt Lake City, Utah-Lynn Thomas Anderson was born to Neldon L. and Vera Taylor Anderson in Salt Lake City. He passed away peacefully at home, having lived a full and honorable life. He was the eldest child and a beloved example to all.
Lynn graduated from South High School and the University of Utah with a degree in Accounting. He served an LDS Mission in the New England States Mission and reflected often on those experiences through-out his life. After he returned from his mission, he met and married his sweetheart, Raedda Jackson, in the Salt Lake Temple. They celebrated 54 years of marriage.
Lynn began his professional career at A.J. Hogle Company as an Accountant. This job transitioned to Concession Manager at Hogle Zoo where he mentored many. He owned and operated Autobahn Transport which specialized in transporting sports cars and antique vehicles. He was currently employed for the last 15 years at Karl Malone Toyota where his dependability was unmatched. In typical fashion, he checked into work on his final day in this life.
He was a member of the Mount Olympus 2nd Ward. He served as counselor in the Bishopric, Cub Scout leader and other callings. He always started each lesson with a clever joke.
After his family, cars were his love. Lynn's pride and joy was his black 1968 Porsche 912 which he special ordered new and meticulously maintained ever since. He was particularly proud of his Porsche winning First in Class at the 2012 National Porsche Parade. He served several years as the Chairman of the Concours d' Elegance Charity Car Show.
There are few more organized than Lynn. He admired the precision of German engineering in automobiles, as well as an avid interest in pens and watches.
He loved travel. Germany was a favorite, mostly because it is home to the Porsche factory and museum. A highlight of his life were frequent trips to Europe with his wife, son, and grandsons. A couple of his most memorable trips were a safari in Africa and flying supersonic on the Concorde.
He is survived by his wife, Raedda; son, Douglas Lynn Anderson; daughter, Susan Rae Bodily (Tim); grandsons, Tyler (currently in the MTC, called to serve in the South Korea Mission), Chase, Parker, Samuel and Jackson Bodily; siblings, Gary L. Anderson (Jan), Kent T. Anderson (Kate), Sandra Speck (Sandy).
He was a respecter of everyone - a dedicated employee - a dutiful husband and parent. But most of all, he was a best friend to his son and a hero to his grandsons.
