Gary Vern Wright Obituary
Gary Vern Wright
1945 ~2014
Gary was born September 16,1945 in Coalville, Utah and passed away at home in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 19, 2014.
He was raised in Park City, Utah and the surrounding area. He attended Park City High School where he played football and basketball.
Gary greatly enjoyed fly fishing in streams and small mountain lakes with his own hand-tied flies. After high school he became a member of the U.S. Navy from 1965 to 1969 where he served as a sonar technician. He and others were commissioned to establish the "NAVFAC" on Midway Island (along with all the Gooney Birds.)
Gary was preceded in death by his daughter Shelley, parents Vern and Jane, brother Boyd, sister Verna and nephew Jeff.
He is survived by his siblings Marjean, Dennis and Mike along with nieces and nephews living in various locations.
Sincere thanks go to my sister Gabrielle, nephew Ian and niece Erin and wonderful friends for their caring and support. Also gratitude goes to CNS Hospice, IMC and Utah Cancer Specialists for their care.
In lieu of flowers please donate to the Wounded or Homeless Veterans Organization of your choice.
A private service will be held at a later date.
Thank you all - Sheila Wright, wife of 41 years.
