Vardell Clay Ungricht Obituary
Vardell Clay Ungricht
"Together Forever"
On August 4, 2014 our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother returned home to her Heavenly Father and loved ones shortly after turning 92. She fought a good fight until her passing. She was a life-long resident of Murray, UT being born to John William and Lillian Watts Clay. She married John Charles Ungricht on August 26, 1944 and later sealed in the Manti Temple. Vardell was a faithful member of the LDS church serving in her own quiet way. She enjoyed serving in the Jordan River Temple. She attended cosmetology school after high school. She belonged to a family deeply rooted in the Fire Dept., her father being a Chief in the Salt Lake County Fire Dept., with her husband and son continuing the tradition. She was a tremendous support to them. She is survived by her children, James (Carolyn) Ungricht, Jacklyn (Miles) Brown; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband; two sisters; and a brother.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 11, 2014, at the Heritage Ward, 67 W. Clay Park Dr. (6200 S), with a viewing Sunday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street, and Monday prior to the services at the church from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment: Murray City Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at www.jenkins-soffe.com
