Katherine Louise Lee Larsen

1922 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
1922 ~ 2014
Katherine Louise Lee Larsen (91) born 25 September 1922, in Rawlins, Wyoming, died peacefully at her daughter's home in Kaysville, Utah on 7 August 2014. Louise was the 4th child of Severena E. Rasmussen and Joseph S. Lee, born after her twin brother Louis. She spent her first few years in Wyoming and then moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated from South High School, then worked as a teletype operator at Postal Telegraph, Federal Reserve Bank, United Airlines, Fort Douglas Signal Corp, and the Bureau of Mines. Attended the University of Utah for a short time before serving in the Eastern States Mission. Married Clyde Harold Larsen on 11 September 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple. They are the parents of 9 Children.
Louise was a very talented seamstress, and also a painter of porcelain, oils, and watercolors. She was very active in the arts and often participated in roadshows and plays. She and Clyde had a desire for their children to be musicians, and provided them that opportunity while encouraging them in the disciplines of practice.
She was a master candy maker and it goes without saying that this treat will be missed! She was never afraid to try something new, including organizing and teaching a neighborhood preschool. She and Clyde were master gardeners. Their yard was beautiful and they took great pride and enjoyment in it, often hosting weddings and parties. She was a loyal friend and had many life-long friendships. She enthusiastically embraced all she met.
She had a great love for the Savior, and was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and Clyde served as missionaries in the Houston, Texas East Mission. She served in the Cub Scouts, MIA, and Primary. She loved writing family stories and histories.
She will be remembered for her happy laugh, beautiful smile, spunky manner, honest opinion, Sunday evening conversations, and devoted service to her family.
