Constance Higgs Blosch Obituary
1925 ~ 2014
Constance Higgs Blosch, our beloved mother, wife, sister, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully August 13, 2014 at age 88. She was born October 19, 1925 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Amy Gill and Alpha Jedde Higgs. She was the second of five children. Connie married Rulon Paul Blosch in the Salt Lake Temple in 1947 and they raised four children together.
Connie's passion was her children, grandchildren and dedicated service to the LDS church in which she served in several callings over the years. Before marriage, she worked in a civil service capacity in Kearns during World War II. She had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and served three missions with her husband. The first was their building mission to Australia where chapels were built in 1963-1965. She called this mission the highlight of her life. They also served a Joseph Smith Memorial Building Hospitality mission after returning to the United States and subsequently served a Liberty Stake Leadership mission as well. Connie also kept the accounting books and payroll for their business, Blosch Construction Company in Salt Lake City.
Connie is preceded in death by her husband, Rulon Blosch, as well as both parents, Amy Gill and Alpha Jedde Higgs, one brother, Sharon (Beverly) Higgs, and one sister, Zola (Bill-deceased) Draper. She is survived by three daughters, Marie (Steve) Lloyd, Lisa (David) Sexton, Shelley (Lloyd) Kruger, one son, Matthew P. Blosch, two sisters, Melba (Don-deceased) Wayman, and Monda (Ron-deceased) Lund, eleven grandchildren and one great grandson with a great granddaughter on the way.
Family and friends may visit Sunday, August 17th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 E. 1300 S., Salt Lake City, Utah and from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. on Monday, August 18th at the Monument Park Stake Center, 1320 S.
