Kenneth Dean Reaveley Obituary
1964 ~ 2014
On Wednesday August 13, 2014 our beloved Kenneth Dean Reaveley was called home to be greeted by loved ones and to continue his eternal progression.
Ken was born on January 2, 1964 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the first born to Lawrence Dean and Gayle Jensen Reaveley. His mother loved him dearly. He graduated from Cottonwood High school in 1982. After graduation Ken attended the University of Utah and also spent many hours working alongside and learning from his Grandpa Reaveley. They worked on many projects together, and Ken adored the time he spent with his Grandpa and Grandma Reaveley. Ken was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Raleigh North Carolina mission.
On July 29, 1988 Ken married the love of his life and best friend, Rochelle Battad. Together they had many health trials but they loved each other, took care of each other and had a very happy life. They were blessed with two children; Kamen Nainoa and Kaleinani. As a family, they are blessed with the knowledge that Families are forever. Ken loved being a dad and his children brought great joy into his life.
Ken loved hunting, working with the Boy Scouts, weekends at Iosepa and family time on Kauai. Ken's desire to understand how things work led him down multiple paths. Whether it was working on car engines, computers or computer networks, or just pondering the mysteries of the universe- Ken loved to learn!
Ken had a unique and special relationship with his in-laws Alwin & Odetta Battad, the entire Battad family and the Hawaiian community. He loved and embraced the Hawaiian culture, heritage and lifestyle.
Ken had an extremely close friendship with his father. He knew and recognized how blessed he was to have his father and Janice in his life.
Ken is survived by his wife and children, his father Lawrence Dean Reaveley (Janice); his siblings, Craig (Deniece), Julee (Michael) Snarr, Lisa (Bryan) Kenney, Erik (Cindy); step brother and sister; David (Vanessa) Lloyd, Wendy (Caleb) Prusso.
Preceded in death by his mother Gayle Jensen Reaveley, and his grandparents.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 11:00am, LDS Church 1160 East Vine Street, Murray, UT. A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 19, 6-8:00pm at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive and 9:45-10:45 prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
