Edward C. Rengers
1925-2014
Edward Charles Rengers (Eddie) was born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 20, 1925 and passed away in Salt Lake City on August 17, 2014 at age 89. Eddie went to high school in Pittsburgh and then joined the US Army Air Corps in 1943 and served as a pilot in WWII. After his time in the service he attended Pennsylvania State University where he obtained a bachelor's degree in meteorology. Eddie worked as a meteorologist for American Airlines at LaGuardia airport in New York City and later as a civilian for the US Army until his retirement in 1983. As a government meteorologist he worked at Ft. Huachuca, AZ, Ft. Douglas, UT, and Dugway Proving Ground, UT. Eddie is survived by Jean, his wife of 66 years, his 4 children: Terry Rengers (Mardi), Bruce Rengers, Patti Gehring (Steve), and Paul Rengers (Suzanne), 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Services will be held at St. Vincent's Catholic Church, 1375 E. Spring Lane (5150 S.), Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 11 a.m. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So.
