Drew McMillian Larsen Obituary
Drew McMillian Larsen
Oct 12, 1919 ~ Aug 27, 2014
Draper, UT-Drew often said, "Nothing is as constant as change," we know he is now enjoying this change, with his sweetheart of 70 years. Drew was born October 12, 1919 in Midvale, Utah.
He spent a happy childhood in Midvale, Sandy and Granite. He graduated from Jordan High School and attended the University of Utah. He served his country in the United States Army, active duty, Signal Corps from 1941-1945, where he achieved the rank of Master Sargent. On July 19,1942, in Tacoma, Washington he married Dorothea Brown. Upon his return from military service, they made their home in Midvale and together they raised a daughter and two sons.
Drew worked at Vincent Drug and later became a pharmaceutical salesman for McKesson Corporation until 1984.
His interests included reading, music, gardening, fishing,
and woodworking. He adored spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, reading stories, singing silly songs, playing games, and visiting with them on the backyard swing. They were the joy of his life.
He taught us life's real priorities: love, beauty in each day, reverence for nature and integrity.
Survived by his children Allene and Michael Ross, Ron and Judy Larsen, Fred and Kelly Larsen, 8 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Proceeded in death by parents, his wife, grandson, Marc Larsen, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
Services will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 South) at 11:00 a.m. where friends and family may call one hour prior to the service. Interment Midvale Cemetery.
