JoAnn Krajeski Obituary

JoAnn Tolboe Krajeski 1948 ~ 2008 JoAnn Tolboe Krajeski, beloved wife and mother, passed into eternity Saturday, July 26, 2008. Never was a woman so devoted to her family and to life; she gave all of herself in all that she did. Her dedication and passion for the creative and performing arts touched the lives of many and profoundly enhanced the quality of the arts in Park City. Her affinity for plants and animals expressed a deep love and appreciation of life. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her and those who had the blessing of spending time with her. Now we wish her happiness and joy in being reunited with her mother, father, family and dear friends. JoAnn was born September 27, 1948 in Provo, Utah to Kent C. and Josephine L. Tolboe. She passed away as a result of a bicycling accident on July 26, 2008. She was educated in the Provo School District and graduated from Brigham Young University in Interior Design. She was the beloved wife of David Krajeski whom she married on November 23, 1974. Together they started Design Coalition, an interior design firm in 1973. They are the proud parents of sons, Sean, Wyatt and Kit Krajeski. She had a love for all animals especially her dogs Mowgli, Bond, Isa, Deets and Ayla, as well as her cats and horses. She excelled in athletics and was a superb skier and certified ski instructor at the original Park City Ski Resort. An expert horse woman, JoAnn was a past member of the Blue Ribbon Riding Club in Provo, Utah and loved riding at the family Riversong Ranch and surrounding mountains nearby. She loved golf, gardening, Lake Powell, BYU Cougars, traveling the world with David, but most of all she loved spending and devoting time to hear family and friends. She was an exquisite entertainer, hostess, gourmet cook and was published in Bon Appetite "Best of the Best" Magazine. The Krajeskis opened their home to many friends and services organizations for the benefit of the community. JoAnn served in many civic and community organizations including past President of Park City Performing Arts Foundation/Eccles Center, Save Our Stage Board and the Egyptian Theater Preservation Board. She was active in leadership positions with the Kimball Art Center, Sundance Film Festival and the Park City Arts Council. She was a member of other organizations including the Silver Queen Investment Club, Summit County RAP Tax Board, Volunteer for the Cross Country Venue for the 2002 Olympics and proud participant of Dream Makers Academy, various Park City book clubs and was an active supporter of the Christian Center of Park City. She was a partner of DJK Investments and director of Tolboe Construction Company. She was a member of Riverside, Park Meadows, Jeremy Ranch and the Salt Lake Country Clubs. She is survived by her husband, David, children, Sean (Marcela), Wyatt (Melissa), and Kit Krajeski, step mother Arlea N. Tolboe, father-in-law, Alexander Krajeski, sister, Jan (Richard) Anderson, brothers, Ronald K. (Jeanne) Tolboe, Craig A. (Nancy) Tolboe and Michael R. (Kathy) Tolboe, brothers-in-law, Alex Jr. and Julian Krajeski. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents and mother-in-law, Nita Krajeski. JoAnn, our wife and mother, imparted these words: "Grieve not, nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you; I loved you so - twas Heaven here with you." We will cherish her forever! A memorial service to honor JoAnn will be held on Sunday, August 3 at the Deer Valley Snow Park Lodge Amphitheater at 9:30 a.m., followed with a reception. In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions be made to the "JoAnn Tolboe Krajeski Foundation for the Arts," 7045 North State Road 32, Peoa, Utah, 84061. The family has requested that messages, condolences and photos be sent to [email protected] to be compiled in a tribute album.

I am so sorry to hear about her passing. I met Joanne years ago at Rancho La Puerta. She introduced me to the idea of bringing my coffee to the ranch and we enjoyed the espresso. I was thinking about her as I just returned from another visit there. My sympathies go out to her family and friends.

To The Entire Krajeski and Tolboe Families,

We are deeply saddened by the passing of JoAnn. The loss of such a beautiful person, in all the meanings of the word, brings on the greatest feelings of sadness and anguish that must be nearly unbearable for all of you.

JoAnn's incredible enduring spirit is the only relief I find from the sadness in my heart. I know she's helping you too.

We didn't visit her enough. Thankfully the memory of her is forever with us.

Dear David and family-
I am profoundly saddened to hear of your loss. Many years ago, when Wyatt was an infant you stayed with my folks in Crystal Falls. And, although I never had the opportunity to meet JoAnn then, through their oft shared and loving stories of that visit I came to know this warm, gentle and kind person they so fondly remember. Although we are separated by many years and many miles, Please know you are not alone in your sorrow. You and your family are in my prayers.
Sincerely,

Robyn rudy

It is so hard for me to imagine that this beautiful, vibrant, energetic, fun, loving friend is gone.

We were great friends in colleage and were roomates on our Sememster Abroad in Grenoble, France. We were always up to something: laughing through the streets of Paris, jumping off the train in Lucerne, giggling at The David in Florence, or eating bland pizza in Rome. Those are sweet, sweet memories that last forever -- those innocent, playful, explorative times before you become who you are meant to be.

I lost track of JoAnn and David several years ago, as our lives took different directions. But I loved her dearly and know that she lived this life to the fullest. She always gave 150% to whatever she did.

I send my thoughts today to her family - they are certainly blessed to have JoAnn as a wife, mother, sister, and aunt.

And those of us who are lucky enough to have called her our friend are truly blessed as well.

I just heard the sad news.

JoAnne and Dave opened their home to us for Melissa and Wyatt's recent wedding on the longest day of the year, and it will be forever remembered by all who were there. JoAnne I'm sorry I'll never get a chance to meet you again.

All the Krajeskis are in our thoughts.

Kit (and the Krajeski family),
I am so sorry for your loss. JoAnn came into the restaurant where I work every now and then, and she was always so kind to me... and always so eager to talk about you.

I was so sad to learn about your loss.JoAnn was one of my best friends in high school. The things I remember most about her was, Ironing her hair on the ironing board with a hot iron to make it real straight. Always going to her parents house and finding good things to eat. Sluffing school and riding all over town in her fancy car. We pretended we were going to B.Y.U. We loved to date the guys from the "Y" until they found out how old we were. I married a boy from the "Y" that was 4 years older. She gave me a lot of advice on how to act older. She was so fun to hang out with. We would laugh so hard at everything we did. She was truely a great friend. We used to write untill Wyatt was born then I lost track of her. I knew she lived in Park City but could never remember her married name. I am sad to know we were so close and never got together. We were members of Riverside Country Club too. It would have been so fun to run into her. Maybe I will see her on the other side. I know she will be running a lot of important events. I loved her so much.

JoAnn was a friend in high school, always full of fun. We played poker in the carrels together instead of studying at BY High. I am grieved that she is gone and send my sympathy and concern to her family. From what I can read you will continue to share her legacy of light and love of life with all those you meet. God bless you with comfort and peace knowing hers was a life well lived. She made mine better for knowing her.
