Theron was that rarest kind of guy, the kind whom you never, ever get fed-up and angry with and who, in fact, picks you up out of a rut by merely plopping down at your table in a coffee shop and making you laugh and then talking of matters so profound you forget your dilemma and become inspired. The type of friend you wish you'd run into when, walking alone, you see something funny, bizarre or amazing. The guy who's never once given you a bum steer on a book recommendation. The one whom you wish you'd seen the movie with. The only other guy who owns that obscure l'il record which nobody else seems to have heard or, if so, understands at all, but that you love. The fella you always hope will be at the bar because you know there's always a spot at his table for you, his company and companions will be interesting and he'll never stiff you on drinks. I rode by the new Junior's on my way to work many times over the last year, unable to stop, but recognizing his unmistakable face ("You gotta good face for memories.", I recall having told him some twenty-five years back, and indeed, nobody ever forgets that great Irish mug...)and thinking I wished I could stop to have a beer with Theron, but, hell, just the fact that Theron was still to be found at Junior's of a summer night made me feel that some things are constant, some things are perfect and perhaps all's right in the world tonight. I don't think I can bear riding that block of Third South anymore.

Theron and I became friends when we rode the Nightride bus home from work in the early 90's. He was funny, kind, and a friend to everyone. RIP, Theron I hope you and Layne are having a good laugh in the Comedian's Lounge!

I performed with Theron in a couple high school musicals and he was one of the funniest people I met in high school. We can all remember him for the joy he had for performing and spreading that joy to others.

I first met Theron through my brother, Leron, when we were all in "Flower Drum Song" at Cyprus. I performed with him many other times, including being in "The Man Of LaMancha". The one thing I will always remember most about Theron is his sense of humor and the fact that he could quote almost the entire movie, "Monty Python and the Holy Grail". He was a very funny person, and I am sad to hear that he is no longer with us!

Like others who knew Theron from high school, I remember him as a funny, kind friend, always outgoing, always concerned about others.

May you rest in peace, and may your family always have fond memories of your awesome spirit.

I met Theron in the early 80's when I moved here from Ireland. He soon became a great friend to me and my brother George. It was wonderful to watch him grow through the years, as an actor, a poet, a writer, etc. He was definitely an original. I will miss him dearly, but he has left me with so many wonderful memories that will forever make me smile and laugh.

I knew Theron from school, we lived a few blocks from each other. My favorite memory of Theron is the night he took me for slurpies and then to the playground to swing. He was Don Quixote in the school play, and still had little patches of spirit gum stuck to his face. To this day, it is the most original date I’ve ever had, and one of the best. I will never forget him. God bless his family and his many friends, he will be missed.

Theron took me to my very first concert (The Police). He also stood by me and listened to me and was of great support when I started as a new student at Cyprus, after my mom died. So sad to hear of the loss of such a great person.

It's been many years since I've seen Theron. I have so many great memories of him from our "Drama Days" at Cyprus High. Some of my greatest memories are of him grabbing me and dancing me around the stage. He was joyful, talented and so incredibly kind. I have and always will think of him with the utmost fondness - he was a very good friend. I am so sorry to his family for their loss and send my love and sympathy.

I have lived in the downtown Salt Lake City area for a very long time, and I can say that I saw Theron's free spirit of a face atleast once a week. We have lost another unique soul.

I remember as kids growing up playing football in the street with Theron in Magna. Sadly we lost touch after he left home but remember seeing him in several commercials on the television and glimpses of him in movies. Such a shock to have heard of his passing.

Theron was a part of my childhood- his tall boot-clad army green style, little cap, red ribbon form stood out in the downtown area where we congregated. It will be difficult to look at the patio on third south- I'll remember you everytime I pass by...
