PAULA UECKER Obituary
Paula Frieda Uecker 1916 ~ 2010 Our dearest Mother ("Oma," daughter, sister, wife) was born November 2, 1916, and died peacefully at her home on August 2, 2010.Paula's life journey began in Offenbach a/Main, Germany, and completed in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the youngest of three and part of a large and beloved extended family. Her first husband lost his young life during World War II. She met and married Wilhelm and converted to the LDS religion. After arriving in America, living in New York City for several years, they successfully arrived at their intended destination: Salt Lake City. Life in Salt Lake was not easy during those times, but with their commitment and determination they made it work. During their life in Utah, she and Wilhelm were sealed in the LDS temple, served two missions in Germany and were involved in various community and church-related activities. Wilhelm preceded her in death on June 26, 1988. Paula is survived by children Michael (Sandra) and Ursula; grandchildren Amber (Lee), Preston, Sean (Britney); great grandchildren and many others who have loved and laughed with her. Viewing will be held at Larkin Mortuary (260 East South Temple) on Thursday, August 5, 2010, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, after which graveside services will commence at 1 p.m. at Mountain View Memorial Estates (3115 East 7800 South). Paula's family extends their sincerest appreciation for excellent care given to her by Intermountain Hospice (Rita, Nubia and Sylvia). She was treated with exceptional dignity and respect. Bis aufs Wiedersehen In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to a charity of your choice.
