BEVERLY HATCH Obituary

Beverly Sedgwick Hatch 1937 ~ 2010 Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend passed away November 8, 2010 in Ogden, Utah at the age of 73 after a lifelong battle with diabetes. She was born September 26, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah, daughter of Roland and Zira Nance Sedgwick, and was raised in Bountiful, Utah. She married the love of her life, Robert Duane Hatch, Sr. for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on June 19, 1959 to whom she was married for more than 51 years. Beverly will always be known for the love she had for her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and the year-long preparations she would make for the perfect Christmas celebrations. She graduated from Davis High School where she was on the honor roll, loved to read biographies, and attended LDS Business College and Brigham Young University. Baseball was her favorite sport and as a high school student she would ride the bus to Salt Lake City with her friends to watch the Salt Lake Bees play. She was also an avid BYU and Utah Jazz fan and knew all the Jazz players by name. Beverly learned the value of hard work at a young age and with her college business courses worked in local banks, including more than 20 years at First Security Bank in Provo, Utah. Her pies and breads were perfect and simply delicious. She was an excellent seamstress, loved to crochet and knit, and spent countless hours pursuing her love of genealogy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her infant son Tyler Sedgwick Hatch, and her stepsister Norma Sedgwick. She is survived by her husband, Robert Duane Hatch, Sr. of Layton, Utah; children, Robert Duane (Diana) Hatch, Jr. of Kaysville, Utah; and Michele (Scott) Trotter of Centerville, Utah; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and brothers and sister, Norman (Carma) Sedgwick, Sacramento, California; Stephen Sedgwick, Bountiful, Utah; Sandra (Fred) Banks, Kanab, Utah; and Bruce (Gloria) Sedgwick, Bountiful, Utah. Funeral Services will be Friday, November 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Woodland Park Ward meetinghouse at 2300 N. University Park Boulevard, Layton, Utah. The viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. prior to the funeral in the Relief Society room of the meetinghouse. Burial will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery, and condolences may be left online at www.russonmortuary.com
