Marjorie LAMONT Obituary
M. Marjorie Lamont 1919 ~ 2011 M. Marjorie Lamont, age 91, died February 15, 2011 in Salt Lake City, Utah.She was born April 5, 1919 in Salt Lake to George Emanuel Petersen and Myrtle Elizabeth Winward, she attended South High School and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She married Duncan Grant Lamont on June 1, 1940 in Salt Lake. Marjorie was a wonderful unconditional loving mother. She was an accomplished oil, water and mosaic artist. Her beautiful art work can be found on her loved ones walls. She was a talented seamstress and made her children's clothing including their wedding dresses. She was an award winning gardener who enjoyed the fruits of her labor. She was always willing to share her gardening and art skills with others. She used her talents to illustrate a gardening and children's book. She worked for several years for Bill Shipler Photo and Gibbons and Reed. Survived by Karen O. Griffiths (Brent), Valerie L. Murphy, Thomas Duncan Lamont (Mary Kay); 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grand-children, two great-great-grand-children. Preceded in death by her husband, Duncan, son, David, sisters, Irene and Betty. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 12:00 noon at Grand View LDS Ward, 2930 South 2000 East, Salt Lake City, Utah. The family will receive friends at 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Drive, Salt Lake City.
