Obituary Condolences

Orville F. Burt "Cork/Corky" 1918 ~ 2011 Orville F. "Cork/Corky" Burt, loving husband, brother, uncle and friend passed away March 27, 2011 at the age of 92. Born July 15, 1918 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Robert W. Burt and Katie Crowther Burt. He served in the Air Force during World War II. He married Jena Lou Plum on June 6, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple. He retired after 36 years from the United States Postal Service. He loved to play golf and attend sporting events. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many church callings in his long life, including Bishop. Uncle Cork, while having no children, was a father and grandfather to many of his nieces and nephews. He was loved and admired by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 63 three years, Jena, his sister, Ruth Gail, numerous nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his four brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be Friday, April 1, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Twenty-Sixth Ward, 1145 West 500 South with viewing Thursday 6-8:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, and Friday one hour prior to services at the ward. Interment will follow the funeral at the Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan.
