Obituary Condolences

Ann Glezos 10/23/21 ~ 08/20/11 Ann Glezos, our loving Mother, YiaYia, Sister-in law, and Aunt passed away peacefully, Sat., August 20 2011, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law Terri and John Anderson, in Marietta, Georgia. Ann was born on October 23, 1921, to Michael and Teresa Hoffman in Passaic, New Jersey. In April 1943 she joined the Marine Corps and was one of the first female Marine. It was there she met and married Ted Glezos (deceased) while both were serving in the Marine Corps during World War II. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in July of 1946. Ann was the loving and beloved mother of five children: Christine Whipple (Blaine), Michael "Bo" Glezos (Lynne), Ernest Glezos, Steve Glezos (Shellie), and Teresa Anderson (John). She was the much loved YiaYia of eight grandchildren and spouses) and eight great grandchildren. She is survived by sister-in-law Mary Glezos Forsman Barnes (Don), niece and nephews. A private family burial will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery on August 27th. In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions to the Corazon de Vida Foundation, 14252 Culver Drive Suite A-800, Irvine Ca 92604, or Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, 674 42nd Street, Ogden, Utah 84403 or the charity or your choice.
