1942 ~ 2012|
Kent Lewis left this world and his pain, March 12, 2012. Kent was born, August 31, 1942, to Judge David T. and Marie Stewart Lewis in Salt Lake City.
Kent graduated from the University of Utah College of Law in 1968 and had a distinguished career as an attorney. He clerked for Justice Callister, worked briefly for Fabian & Clendenin and the Utah Attorney General before joining the Salt lake County Attorney in 1973. Kent was recognized as one of the preeminent Planning and Zoning attorneys in the country, retiring in 2001.
Kent was known by his family and friends for his sense of humor and his great stories and colorful adventures. He was an avid birder, golfer and marginally good fisherman. He loved to travel to exotic places, often with good friend Bill Hyde, who protected Kent from his own absentmindedness.
Kent loved and was proud of his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow and become young adults and was a real fan of their various sporting events. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Kent is survived by his wife; Sally, Brothers; David (Patty) Lewis, Frank (Georgie) Lewis and children; Chris (Janice) Sexton, Kara (David) Loden, Adam Lewis, five grandchildren and his little buddy Max.
The family would like to thank Brent Cameron, Doug MacLean, his Kappa Sigma fraternity brothers, and Kent's broad group of friends as well as Dr. Joe Culbertson, Lora Wortman, Dr. Rick Brown and the many other medical professionals who provided care.
Respecting Kent's wishes, no formal services will be held.
