Doug Dellinger was a fine Soldier and a great friend to many, both in uniform and those who love Soldiers. I will miss my association with him and the great zest he brought to his service as one of our finest Citizen-Soldiers. I want his family to know how much he was admired in the Utah National Guard and the Army and how deeply he will be missed. Thanks Top for your marvelous service.

I was very sad to hear of Doug's passing. We shared many good times when we worked together in the Utah National Guard. A shared Vietnam experience gave us common ground for many shared "War Sories". He always had the welfare of our soldiers at heart and strived to make their experience on returning better than what we endured. I valued his friendship and advise during our time together. He'll be missed by all the soldiers he helped over the years. We'll all miss you sense of humor and your caring attiutude. Ford and family I ask God's blessing on you to remember the great times that you all shared.Rest in peace my friend. .

Dear Dellinger Family, I was very sad to hear of Doug's passing. I knew it was coming but hoped the Lord would let him stay for our sakes. He was 3 weeks younger than me but I could always count on him for advice, sympathy or jokes to get me through tough times. I was his "nap time" buddy in kindergaten though we never napped just got into trouble. The last time I saw him we were seniors in high school, he was toosing a baseball to himself. I will miss our talks and his saying "love you kid". Rest in peace my good cousin.

Dear Dellingers, its a sorrow filled note from the Mckowens. For some reason I decided I needed to search the obits, I had know idea it would be Dougs face that would be staring back at me. I am so sad about your loss, boy did we have the best childhoods, our parents were nuts and there were laughs around every corner. We were just talking about how much fun it was to drive to Henefer, while Glen drank beers and smoked, in of course a station wagon. Doug being chased by Doris with a broom all over the duplex back yard. Good Times!!! Love and hugs to you all.

Doug was absolutely a one of a kind brother in our Dellinger family. He possessed that tremendous ability to seek out the humor in any given situation. He always had that mischievous smile along with a twinkle in his eye that could cause those around him to smile also, if not outright laugh. He did take his military service seriously, especially the “Wounded Warrior” Program. He treated his soldiers with the dignity and respect that they so richly earned.
Doug will be missed, but never forgotten.

My condolences to the entire Dellinger family. It was an honor and a blessing to have known and served with Doug. He once told me his favorite nickname was "Bull Dog". In retrospect, Doug tackled his journey head-on with a deep passionate zest for life and a bull-dogish "never say die" attitude in caring for and taking care of people. He was a treasure for the Wounded Warrior project. "BullDog"! Your earthly physical vessel may be gone, but your spirit will always remain. I shall not forget you or what you taught me! Semper Procedamus!

Bulldog and I met when I was assigned to the Wounded Warrior Unit at Camp Williams. We had many things in comon and it was an immediate friendship. Later on, they hired my wife, Jan to work out there, at the same time when Doug was there as a civilian administrator. Doug was one of the few people that Jan took a liking to, and they also became friends. We had to pay our respects when Debbie passed away, not kowing that Doug and I would soon share another kindred event, when Jan was taken from me in March of 2010. Doug was one of the first to offer his condolences, support, and a shoulder to cry on. He was a great man, a good soldier, and cared deeply for all those who were around him. I shall miss him. I am sure that he and Jan are sitting somewhere in heaven, making jokes about anything they can think of, but still watching out for those of us still waiting to make the final deployment.

Doug, you were my first exposure to recruiting for the Guard, you were my trainer and my confidant. You nicknamed me Rookie and you called me that for over 27 years that I worked with you. Your sense of humor was second to none. You used to get away with saying things that most people wouldn't dream of saying, but somehow you pulled it off. I'll miss you, but I'll always have the memories . RIP Doug.
