R. Keith Gardner Obituary
Jan. 18, 1938 ~ Jan. 14, 2013
R. Keith Gardner passed away January 14, 2013 at the age of 74 as a result of heart disease. He was born January 18, 1938 in Salt Lake City to Thomas Edward and Mary Ellen Gardner. He graduated from East High School in 1957 and married Suzanne Forsyth that same year. Together they had four children; son Lynn Gardner (Lori), daughters Terri Freeman and Wendi McFadden (Richard) and son Brent Gardner (Rhonda). Keith married Linda Dewaal in 1976 and they had one son Ryan Gardner (Kayla). He owned and operated a local respected plumbing company for over 25 years. Keith loved cars, especially Jaguars, and was a member of the Jaguar Club. He was active in all of the events as well as being a former club President. He was also very involved as a judge of the Concours d' Elegance car show for the past 30 years, which he enjoyed very much. Keith had a good eye for beautiful cars and loved to be around them. He also loved Southern Utah and was an avid ATV trail rider. There was always a smile on his face when it was time to ride. Above all else, Keith loved his children, his many family members and, of course, his dear friends. He was the man who knew everyone! It didn't matter where he was, he would always run into someone that he knew. He was also the master of the claw machine and everyone benefited by receiving a small token from him. Keith touched everyone that he met and left a footprint on our hearts. He will be forever missed! He is preceded in death by his parents. Keith is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda Gardner, his five children and his brother Gerald Gardner (Lois) his sister Mary Erickson (Wayne) and many nieces and nephews and 21 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Keith's life will be held Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the LDS Stake Center located at 2675 E. 4430 S. Holladay, Utah 84117. The family will receive visitors from 11:00 a.m. - 12noon with services beginning at 12noon.
