William Warren Hargis, 91, died on January 15, 2013 in St. George, Utah.
He was born March 1, 1921 in Charleston, Illinois to William N. and Elsie Sampson Hargis and was raised in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Bill proudly served in the Army Air Corps, United States Air Force, the Air Force Reserves, and the Air Guard for a total of 40 years. A member of the greatest generation has started his final journey.
Despite increasing medical problems, Bill loved to travel, and enjoyed visiting his family, friends, and his military family, and playing with his little girl, Ginger.
He leaves behind a broken-hearted wife, Margie; brother, Jim (Jeannetta), sisters, Marcella and Imogene; children, Charleen (Bill) and Bill (Linda); stepchildren, Gary (Harriet), Annette, Scott, Debbie (Jerry), and Ranae (Gale); and many grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, five siblings, and a son.
His wife wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the exceptional staff at Dixie Regional ICU and 3 West for all their care and concern in the recent days. A special thanks to Dr. Ferguson for his compassionate care. Also to the many friends who have been supportive in the last months with the frequent phone calls, visits, and offers of help. You are special.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 22, 2013 with military honors and burial at Utah Veterans Memorial Park, under the direction of Neil O'Donnell and Sons Mortuary.
