Donald Keith Alexander; 86 of Draper, Utah passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013 due to complications from a fall. He was born March 30, 1926 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of Robert Ray Alexander Sr. and Jessie Parkes Alexander. He attended schools in Salt Lake City before joining the military during
. He served in both the Army and the Merchant Marines. Keith was also a veteran of the
Keith married Fawn Wayman on November 1, 1958. To their marriage they added a daughter, Pamela in 1962. He worked for Operating Engineers, Union Local #3 out of Salt Lake County.
Keith's passions were fishing, hunting, camping and boating with his family and friends. He loved to travel and spend winters in St. George with his wife. He loved to drive a shiny car, bartering, live entertainment and anything out of doors. He was a great handyman at do it yourself projects. He also built his own boats and campers in his earlier years. Keith enjoyed gardening, especially his tomatoes.
Keith is survived by his daughter Pam Alexander Crow and special son in law Jeff Crow. A brother; Dale (Virginia) Alexander, his cat Oliver and many special nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his wife Fawn on October 21, 2011 and his parents, a baby brother, LeRoy Parkes, a brother, Robert "Bobby" Ray Jr., and a sister Carol Erickson.
A funeral service will be held, Friday, February 1, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Larkin Sunset Garden Chapel (1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah). The family will meet with friends at Larkin's from 9:30 to 10:45 AM prior to services. Interment will be in the Larkin Sunset Garden Cemetery. Condolences to the family can be made to
