Kenneth Monroe Foster (83), cherished husband, father, and grandfather, was born on April 11, 1929 to Ralph Benton Foster and Grace Olive Williams Foster in Putnam County, Missouri.
Ken spent twenty-five years serving his country in the United States Navy. He is a veteran of both Korea and Viet Nam. Upon retirement he became a professor in the Electrical department at Utah Technical College (UVU). He taught there for twenty-three years, serving two terms as President of the Senate and as a Representative at UPEA.
He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in several capacities in his Elder's and High Priest's Quorums. He served as a temple worker in both the Provo and Mt Timpanogos Temples. He, along with his wife, served a mission in the Toronto Canada Temple from 1999-2001.
Ken is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Dorothy Lorraine Hewitson; his son, Kenneth Monroe (Danette) Foster; his daughters, Lorrie Grace (Michael) Barber, and Elizabeth Anne Foster. His grandchildren: Nicholas, Jayden, Duncan, William, Jordan, Michael, Connor, Reagan, and Camille. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, father, brothers, and sisters.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 12:00 p.m., Orem Canyon View Chapel, 1090 North 400 East, Orem. Friends and family may call at a visitation Friday evening, March 8, from 6-8 p.m., at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem or Saturday morning from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery with military honors. Condolences may be extended to the family online at www.walkersanderson.com.
