SALT LAKE/PRICE, UT-Our loving uncle, Silverio Gallegos, age 94, passed away March 19, 2013 at Castleview Hospital in Price.
He was born July 12, 1918 in Park View, New Mexico to Cayetano and Beatriz Gallegos.
Silverio was a veteran of World War II where he honorably served in the Army/Air Force from 1942-1946. After returning from the service he married Annie Maestas in Grand Junction on April 29, 1946; they later divorced.
Silverio was a longtime resident of Salt Lake City where he was a talented craftsman who enjoyed working with his hands. As a retired member of the Carpenters Union in Salt Lake City Silverio was instrumental in the construction of many landmarks in downtown Salt Lake City. He was a mason by trade and always willing to lend his expertise to anyone in need.
Silverio leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews and friends who will miss him dearly.
Silverio was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Arcenia, Teresina, Mary Espinoza; and brothers, Julian, Albert and Paul.
Funeral service, Saturday, March 23, 2013, 10:00 a.m., Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church (190 North Carbon Ave-Price). Family will be at the church Saturday one hour prior to services. Committal service, Cliffview Cemetery, Price. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Silverio at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
