Elena Margaret Kuhn Lindsay
1941 ~ 2013
On April 5, 2013, Elena Lindsay succumbed to her many health issues. She was born October 6, 1941 in Evansville, Indiana to Gordon G. and Irma L. Berkemeier Kuhn. She later graduated from the University of Evansville as a Registered Nurse. She served proudly in the US
from 1963 - 1964. It was while in the Army that she met Robert Dean Lindsay Jr. They were married December 21, 1963. Nursing was Elena's passion. She retired from the VA Hospital in 2011 after 30 years of dedicated service.
She enjoyed the Jazz, Salt Lake Real, the mountains (the deer and elk), and her fuzzy rear-ended "grandkids". Elena was a loving, caring, and giving person, who was admired by everyone who came in contact with her. Her legacy of service to others, especially the veterans of our country, will always be remembered.
She leaves behind her two children, Maria Elena, and Robert (Cassie); her sister, Karleen (Keith) Quinlin and many extended family. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; and sisters, Eileen Osha, Lois Pfiffner, and Carol Schaffer.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 10th, 12:00 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 So. Redwood Rd. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at the mortuary and one hour prior to services. Burial at Utah Veteran Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family encourages donations be made to any veteran organization such as the Wounded Warrior Project or
in Elena's name.
