Buddy Davis Obituary
Buddy Travis Davis
1930-2013
After a courageous battle with chronic illness, Buddy Davis joined our Heavenly Father on April 5, 2013. Born on January 14, 1930 to Travis and Margaret Foote Davis, Buddy had 7 siblings including Joy, Jim and Jerry who preceded him in death, and Peggy, Sue, Tommy and Bobby who still reside in Arizona.
After proudly serving his country as a decorated Sergeant in the US Marine Corps, Buddy married the woman of his dreams, Charlene Audrey Wood who also preceded him in death on April 11, 1980. He was deeply in love with Charlene, and was looking forward to the day that he would be reunited with her in heaven. They had 3 children who are all living; Kenneth Davis, Daniel Davis who is married to Sandra, and Jennifer Haynes, married to Paul, as well as 6 grandchildren: Chet, Peter, Jessie, Kristel, Patrick and Paige who he was very proud of, and 9 great grandchildren. Buddy shared much of his life in later years with a special companion , Brenda Alder who brought him love and great happiness.
Buddy had an associate degree in mining engineering and spent his career in the mining industry, which he loved. He traveled in the western United States and knew almost every mine, current and past. "Bud" was an active member of the LDS church and thoroughly enjoyed his callings as well as home teaching experiences. He had great faith which gave him strength during difficult times. In his free time, Bud loved writing poetry about his life experiences and those that he loved, which will be cherished by his family for many years to come.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 13th at 12:00 Noon at Dimple Park Ward, 9880 So. 3100 E., Sandy, Utah. Family and friends are invited to share in the celebration of his life. He will be interred in Sheldon, Arizona at a later date. In lieu of flowers, family request that charitable donations be made in his honor to the Disabled American Veterans Association.
