November 3, 1925 ~ March 24, 2014
On March 24, 2014, Marvin Osmun, age 88, was joyfully reunited with his eternal companion Dorothy.
He was born November 3, 1925 in Sparks, Nevada to James and Charlotte Williams Osmun. He married Dorothy Winrow on December 27, 1947. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Utah Temple. He was an ordinance worker in the Mt. Timpanogos temple. Marvin served in the U.S. Navy in both World War II and the Korean War. He worked as a brakeman, engineer and conductor on the Southern Pacific railroad. Marvin was an avid fisherman, hunter and mineral miner.
He is survived by four children, Tom (Debi) of St. Louis, MO; Janice (Jay) Peterson Salt Lake City, Neil (Deborah) of American Fork; and John (Lana) of Cedar Hills. He has 28 grandchildren and 62 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers James and Jack, his sweetheart Dorothy and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, April 2nd, 2014 at the American Fork 7th Ward, 688 W. 500 N. Friends may call at the church prior to the funeral service from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
Special thanks to Neil and Deborah and sons who cared for Marvin so tenderly for so very long.
