May 13,1952~June 19,2014
Oak City, UT-Rex Wells Finlinson passed away June 19, 2014 in Oak City. Born May 13, 1952 in Delta to Dwain J Finlinson and Harriet Wells Finlinson. Had four older brothers and two sisters as well as one younger brother. He was eleven when his mother passed away. Two years later his father married Dorothy White Rogers bringing another older sister and a brother his same age into the family. Raised in Oak City. Enjoyed farming, and especially enjoyed working with his sons on the farm. He graduated Delta High School and attended Snow College and BYU, receiving Bachelor's Degree in Range Science. Worked for the BLM, then the US Postal Service. Active member of the LDS Church. Served mission in Japan Central. Enjoyed singing in the choir and working with the youth. Rex married Susan Pittman on January 5, 1985 in the Provo LDS Temple. This union bore three sons that were his pride and joy. He enjoyed working and playing with them or just spending time with them.
Survived by his sons: Kerry Allan Finlinson, Thomas Rex Finlinson and Michael Mason Finlinson; brothers: Vance (Helen) Finlinson; Ken (Sarah) Finlinson; Karl (Joyce) Finlinson; Evan Finlinson; Brent (Ann) Rogers; sisters: Judy (Edd) Lyman; Jane (Richard) Persons; Sharon (Rad) Hoenes. Preceded in death by parents; and a brother: Dwain Wells Finlinson.
Funeral: Saturday June 28, 11 am, at the Oak City LDS Chapel, 35 E Center, Oak City. Viewings: Friday June 27, 6-8 pm, at Nickle Mortuary in Delta; and Saturday, 9:30-10:40 in Oak City. Burial in the Oak City Cemetery. Online condolences at www.nicklemortuary.com
