Betty Hansen Obituary

1932 ~ 2015
Betty L. Hansen passed away January 3, 2015 after a lengthy illness, with her soul mate, Boyd, holding her hand.
She was born February 26, 1932 in Ephraim, Utah to John C. Larsen and Jeanette Sorensen Larsen. She married Boyd A. Hansen September 7, 1951 in Manti, Utah.
She is survived by her husband, three siblings, Janice Reynolds, John C. Larsen, and Nancy Zamora, her children, Jay C. Hansen, Karen Martin (Bob), and Laurel Brown, 10 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
She was a hard worker, superlative mother, a loyal friend, a lifetime student, and kind and benevolent neighbor. She loved children and animals, cats in particular!
Graveside services will be held January 8 at the Ephraim Cemetery at 1:00 PM, and a memorial service will be held later at the Ephraim Senior Citizen's Center hall.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Snow College in her name.
She was Valedictorian of her graduating class at Ephraim High School, editor of The Snowdrift in her year at Snow College, received her B.A. and M.A. from Brigham Young University, and remained a student for life. She taught English at Pleasant Grove Junior High and High Schools, and finished her teaching at Timpview High School in Provo.
She is sorely missed by her family and many friends. For those unable to attend the memorial service in Ephraim, there will be an open-house memorial at 292 East 4695 North Provo (Three Fountains) on Friday January 9th at 1:00 PM.
