Elaine Reid Obituary
Ephraim, Utah
Mother, wife, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Alta Elaine Nicholls Reid, peacefully left her earthly existence on the early morning of Thanksgiving day, Thursday, November 26, 2015, in Ephraim, at the age of 88. Elaine was the first daughter born to Elmer and Alta Nicholls on October 7, 1927 in Ephraim, UT. She married Newell C. Reid, May 21, 1948 in Las Vegas, NV. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. Three children blessed this union: Karen, Terry and Barbara Jo.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ephraim 6th Ward, 765 South 100 East where friends may call Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday morning from 9:30 -10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Ephraim Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the LDS Missionary Fund.

Elaine leaves a great legacy and a large absence. I remember her as a truly dedicated teacher; professional, effective in communicating her knowledge, concerned about her students, fun and approachable. I saw her as an unique individual, true to her own values and passions. Her contributions to her students, her town, and her family were considerable and uplifting. My sympathies to Terry, Barbara, and families for your loss.

Elaine was an excellent teacher! She was an ally for us "kids." I am so grateful that I was under her care in school. She was very honest and caring. And she was a wonderful mother to her kids.
