Our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Jeanne Darlene Petty passed away suddenly and peacefully in the arms of her family April 13, 2016. She was born December 1, 1931 in Portland, OR the only child of Abid George and Mona Beebe Albert. She was married to Donald L. Petty on July 18, 1952 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple by Elder Mark E. Peterson.
Jeanne worked for 30 years in Student Services for Granite School District. She was a master candy maker and won many sweepstakes at the County and State Fairs and was able to pass on this unique art to her son, Mark. She cherished and loved her family dearly.
Jeanne is survived by her children, Greg, Sandi (Dave) Thor, Pam, Matt (Candie), and Mark (Andrea) Petty; grandchildren, Chad (Lisa), Candice, Dallas (Melissa), Becky (Boyd), Erica, Darrell (Rainey), Jenessa (Jared), Logan, Bridger, Karli (Kyle), and Raquel; and 11 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents and husband.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 18, 2016 at the Hunter 3rd Ward, 3737 S. 5600 W. Viewings will be held Sunday 6-7:30 p.m. at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 S., and Monday 10-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park. Greg, Sandi, Pam, Matt, Candie and Mark and Andrea and grandkids,
We mourn with you the loss of your sweet mother and grandma. She is a wonderful woman. So kind, giving and funny. She always treated us just like family. May the Holy Ghost comfort you as you move forward. The plan of salvation and their temple sealing ensures a knowledge of life after this and forever families. She is so happy to be with her sweetheart Don.

I was lucky enough to know Jeanne through her daughter Sandi, when we both worked together at Kennedy Jr. High. I was a fortunate recipient of one of Jeanne's delicious pecan logs at Christmas many times. We always enjoyed seeing Jeanne, and I loved working with Sandi. Kendra Divine
