Obituary Condolences

Ivaloo Downs Allen 1925 ~ 2007 ROY - Ivaloo Downs Allen passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at the Heritage Park Care Center in Roy, Utah. She was born at her family home in Smithfield, Utah March 30, 1925. Ivaloo was the second daughter of Annaliza Jenkins Hoskin and John Downs. She was raised in beautiful Cache Valley. She graduated from North Cache High. Ivaloo married Leon Allen June 22, 1949 in the Logan Temple. They have lived in Roy for 58 years. Ivaloo served in five Relief Society presidencies. She held many church positions including stake missionary, member of the stake Sunday School board, Young Women leader, a visiting teacher, and compassionate service leader. She also served at the Ogden Temple for 17 years and also as a genealogical worker. She loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ and was always a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ivaloo worked as the secretary for Ed Gossner at Cache Valley Dairy. She worked for a time at Maw Realty in Roy. She worked at Defense Depot Ogden as the secretary of Maintenance Division for 28 years. Ivaloo and Leon have been retired for almost 20 years. They've spent their retirement years as they spent all of their lives, with their family and friends. Ivaloo loved working in her vegetable and flower gardens and loved sharing the bounty of those gardens with others. She loved the outdoors and the beauties of nature. She shared her love of flowers, birds and trees with her children and grandchildren. Ivaloo was a talented cook. She loved quilting, embroidery work and writing poetry. She loved arranging flowers and shared the bouquets with friends. For many years, a bouquet of beautifully arranged flowers would be taken to Sacrament Meeting and placed at the front of the chapel for everyone to enjoy. Family and friends will miss Ivaloo's loving and sunny outlook on life because she "scattered sunshine everywhere she went." She is survived by her loving husband, Khalil Leon Allen; children, Luann (David) Evans, Douglas Leon (Anita) Allen, and Bonnie Jill (David) Whipple; 13 grandchildren, Sarah, Brandon, Trisha, Michael Evans, Emily Allen Dyson, Elizabeth, Matthew, and Jeannie Allen, Kristan, Amie, Daniel, Timothy, and Jonathan Whipple; one great-granddaughter, Madelyn Ruth Dyson. A special thanks to the caring staff of Heritage Park for the care and understanding and love for mother. Thank you to all her dear friends and neighbors who showed love and concern. Thank you to Vista Care Hospice. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 25, 2007, 10 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah.
