GARCIA
GARCIA, Raul L. Garcia was born on October 15,1929, in San Antonio, TX and has
been a life-long resident of the Alamo City. Raul passed away peacefully on Monday, January 28, surrounded by his family. Raul served at Fort Sam Houston as a dedicated accountant for 32 years. Raul also served with distinction in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was one of four children born to the late Arnulfo and Natividad Garcia. He is survived by his brother Oscar and sisters Nora and Lilia. He was the beloved husband of Raquel Martinez Garcia for 44 years and the father to children who adored him, Sandra Austin, Judy Rodriguez, Raul Carlo Garcia, Rene Garcia, and Laura Aguilar. Raul joins in God's Kingdom his pre-deceased beloved step-daughter, Carla Albidress. Grandpa Garcia was blessed with 11 grandchildren... Scott, Sean, Dillon, Hunter, Danielle, Gabby, Gia, Carla, Diego, Tiannah, and Gavino. Raul was a great cook and notorious for his menudo and his "GK" hot sauce. Raul was an avid golfer and loved traveling to Las Vegas with his wife and friends. He loved barbecuing and spending quality time with family. Raul had a great sense of humor and was always the "life" of get-togethers and parties. His infectious smile would resonate to whoever was present. He touched many lives during his long and wonderful life and will be greatly missed but we are at peace knowing he has entered the gates of heaven. A memorial service will be offered on Monday February 4, 2013, at 10:00AM at Holy Cross Cemetery and Mausoleum located at 17501 Nacogdoches Rd. San Antonio, TX 78266.

My sincere condolences to Raquel and the Raul Garcia family. Raul was our landlord on Pecos Street. He was always very kind to my family -- Dona Rosa Cortez, Severita Nieto and me, Mary Jane Nieto Diaz. He especially liked to make my grandmother laugh. I also remember when Judy, Raul, Rene and Laura were small and would come to visit their grandparents - Don Arnulfo and Nacho. We lost track of the family and wondered if they still lived in San Antonio. May God bless all of you -- Raquel, Sandra, Judy, Raul, Rene, Laura, Oscar, Nora and Lilia and all the grandchildren.
