Castillo, Martha
December 15, 1947 - February 15, 2015 Yolanda was an impeccable daughter, sister, mom, wife, and grandma. She took her responsibilities the extra mile, being undeniably dependable and reliable for the whole family. She was kindhearted, and would speak with strangers on the street. She loved cooking and watching television. Her benevolence and optimism created an atmosphere that could make the cruelest of men smile. On 2/15/2015, we lost an angel, truly deserving of "Worlds Greatest Grandmother" mug and as she takes her place amongst the angels, we stand proud of her accomplishments. She stood as tall and strong as Everest. On 2/15, we observed the occurrence of the worlds most magnanimous women set to an "ever-rest." May she rest in peace. Born 12/15/1947 in Mexico to Jose and Petra Tapia, she was delivered into the awaiting arms of God surrounded by loving family in her home. She is survived by husband Albert D. Castillo and children Leticia Giddings, Cynthia Castillo, and Albert Scott Castillo, grandchildren Ashton, Nicholas, Julian, Aidan, Maya, LaDanian, Sebastian, and Emma. She has two sisters Delia and Alma A special thanks to the Metropolitan Methodist Staff, Particularly Noah Martinez, Neisha Williams, Nesha Cruz, Sabrina Norcia, Emily Smudy, and Dr. Patrick Cullinan. A visitation will be held for Yolanda on Friday, February 20th at 5:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will depart the funeral home on Saturday, February 21st at 10:15 a.m. for a 10:45 a.m. mass at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church followed by interment at San Fernando II Cemetery.
