Barbara Fay Cunningham, age 85 of San Antonio, Texas passed away on July 14, 2013 at her home. Barbara was born September 23, 1927 in Port Arthur, Texas, the daughter of Roland and Leonie Stansbury. Barbara was a graduate of St. James Catholic High School and attended Port Arthur Business College. In Port Arthur she worked for the Ration Board during World War II as well as KPAC radio and Gulf Oil Corporation. She was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. In 1948 Barbara married Grover Cunningham of Sunburst, Montana. Together they moved to Austin, Texas where Barbara worked for the Texas State Highway Department, supporting Grover while he attended the University of Texas
. They returned to Port Arthur where in 1954 they were blessed with the first of their eight children. In 1956 they moved to San Antonio where they would stay and ultimately celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary in April, 2013. Barbara had a love for music and was an accomplished pianist. She instilled her love and appreciation for music, art and nature in her children and grandchildren and her greatest joy was holding a new baby in her arms. Barbara is survived by her beloved husband Grover F. Cunningham; son and daughter-in-law Mark and Elizabeth Cunningham; daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Joseph Hartman; son Jerry Cunningham; son, Michael Cunningham; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Sherrah Cunningham; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Anne Cunningham; daughter, Susan Roguz; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Thomas Collins; eighteen grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Roland Stansbury and Beverly Landrum and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at 6:00 p.m.
