Beatrice Barnes

BARNES
Beatrice Petty Barnes peacefully left this world to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 11, 2014 at the age of 90. Beatrice was born February 14, 1924 in Bell County, Texas. She was preceded in death by husband Osmo Barnes, four brothers and one sister. Survived by sisters Roberta Dixon and Rozella Moon, both of Belton, Texas, her sons Otis E. Barnes, Johnny L. Barnes and wife Elizabeth, daughters Melba Sue Cook and Vickie Lou Adkins and husband Sam, all of San Antonio, Texas and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren Throughout Texas. Beatrice was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW Post 4815 for over 50 years. She joined on May 31, 1950 and was an active life member. Beatrice held every office in the Auxiliary, including President and won numerous awards both state and national. She was also District 20 President for 2 terms from 1959 through 1961. Beatrice operated the post 4815 Bingo for many years. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
SERVICES
Visitation will be Friday, May 16, 2014 from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. at Mission Park South. Services will be Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Mission Park South. Interment will follow in Mission Burial Park South.
