Charleen Paasch

Charleen Frieda Paasch, age 83, of San Antonio, TX., passed away April 4, 2014. She was born to the late Charles F. Paasch and the late Frieda Haverlah Paasch Anderson in San Antonio, TX. on December 9, 1930. She graduated from Kenedy High School on May 21, 1948. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Southwest Texas State Teachers College (today known as Texas State University) in Education and a Masters of Arts Degree in Education from The University of Texas in San Antonio, TX.
She taught school in the New Braunfels Independent School District, Randolph Field Independent School District in San Antonio, TX., and then in the Spring Branch and Deer Park Independent School Districts in Houston, TX. Starting January 2, 1962 she began work with the San Antonio, TX., IBM Corporation, South Texas office as a programmer and quickly moved into the Sales Marketing Department. For 7 months while working as a programmer in the New York office, she assisted the Department of the Army and the Air Force in formulating systems specifications and programming for the mechanized systems installed at Exchange Field installations in the Continental United States. While at IBM she received dozens of complementary letters from her clients expressing her kindness, dedication, determination, professionalism and extensive technical knowledge in her field. She retired from IBM in 1987. Charleen enjoyed playing tennis and traveling both in the United States and abroad.
Charleen is survived by her sister Noreen Paasch Sippel of New Braunfels, TX., nephew Walter J. Sippel III his wife Linda and her 2 children, and Walter's son Jason Allen Sippel and his wife Kelsey and their 2 daughters. The funeral service will be held on Saturday April 12, 2014 at 11:00 at Rhodes Funeral Home in Karnes City followed by interment at the Kenedy City Cemetery in Kenedy TX. Pallbearers were Walter Sippel, Jason Sippel, Mike Stolte, John Benham, Harry Tyrrasch and Chris Dinklage.
