Cloace Ferguson McGill, 89, of San Antonio, Texas died surrounded by family at her Canyon Lake home on June 4th. A proud seventh generation Texan, she was born in Freestone County to Irene and Fred Ferguson. Clo is survived by her husband of 68 years, Dr. Henry McGill, Jr. She was a Distinguished Alumnus of Vanderbilt School of Nursing Class of 1947 and earned a Master of Public Health at Tulane
University in 1962. She practiced and taught public health nursing in New Orleans and San Antonio until her retirement from the University Of Texas
School Of Nursing in 1985. Clo was a member of the Alamo Mission Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, a longtime member of Lake Canyon Yacht Club, a Master Naturalist, and a gifted hostess. A passionate supporter of Planned Parenthood, Clo served on the Board of Directors of Planned Parenthood Trust of South Texas from 1993-1997. In addition to her husband, Clo is survived by her 3 daughters, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and countless friends.
