Diane Thomas


Diane M. Thomas, daughter of Stefan and Helen Jewasko, died in Tomball, Texas on November 30, 2013 as a result of recurrent breast cancer. Diane was born in San Antonio, Texas August 10,1948. She attended Incarnate Word High School and St. Mary's University in San Antonio. She completed her BS in biology, BA, MA, and PhD in Psychology from the University of Houston, in Houston, Texas. Dr. Thomas worked as a licensed psychologist for more than 25 years. Her employment included the Houston Police Department, DePelchin Children's Center, and the Houston Independent School District.
Diane is survived by her husband of 40 years, Dr. Forrest Ben Thomas III, and her three sisters Eileen Nelson (Ed), Joan Robie (Peter), Marty Jewasko-Ashcroft (Jim) and her brother Stephen Jewasko (Dannelle). She will be dearly missed by several nieces, nephews and grand niece and nephews.
Diane was an active birder and gardener and an avid pet lover. In the past, she volunteered time at the Houston SPCA. She was deeply appreciative of the friendship and support of best friends Dr. Beverly Haas and Mr. Jim Binford. Diane wished all her friends the best of everything and will keep them in her heart forever.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the wonderful nursing staff at both Tomball Regional and Kindred Hospitals for the compassionate, loving care they gave Diane.
A rosary will be held at 12:30PM prior to a Memorial Mass at 1:00PM at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 1111 S. Cherry St., Tomball, Texas on Thursday December 5th. A reception celebrating Diane's life will be held immediately following the mass in the church hall.
