Donna Vorndam

Donna Lynn Jacobs Vorndam, beloved wife, step-mother and friend, passed away April 25, 2013. Donna was born October 22, 1956 in Fort Belvoir, Virginia to Clyde Jacobs and Mary Riggins Jacobs. She was preceded in death by her Mother; brother, Clyde Jacobs III; sister, Nancy Lee Skipper; and brother-in-law, Rick Mead. She is survived by her father, Clyde Jacobs, Sr.; husband, Michael Vorndam.; step children, Chris, Kevin and Carol Ann Vorndam; brother-in-law, Vance Vorndam of Rockport, Texas; Sister-in-law, Crystal Vorndam Mead of Corpus Christi; an aunt, cousins, several nieces and nephews and countless friends. Donna attended many schools while following her Air Force father. She finally settled in San Antonio, graduating from Robert E. Lee High School. She obtained a BA in mathematics from the University of Texas - San Antonio. After graduating, she worked for City Public Service in San Antonio for 26 years until her retirement in 2009. Donna was an avid world traveler and loved cruises. Less than two months ago, she completed a 2 week Hawaiian cruise with Mike. She was a long and active member of St. Margaret's Episcopal Church serving in the alter guild and numerous other ministries. She was known there by her gentle spirit and keen eye for detail. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank Dr. Steve Kalter and the staff at START Center for Cancer Care in Boerne for their many years of care and counsel. A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 29, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church, 5310 Stahl Road, San Antonio, TX 78247. A reception in the Parish Hall will follow.
