Edward Albert (Ed) Cross, 83, died November 26, 2012 in Boerne. Ed was born and raised in rural Alabama. Military service: U.S. Army
Military Police. Education: M.S. in Organic Chemistry, Univ. of Alabama. He spent his career with Texaco in Port Arthur, Houston, and Chicago as a research chemist and manager. He was granted 11 patents. His last 6 years at Texaco were spent with ARAMCO in Saudi Arabia and as head of the office in Tokyo. After retiring in 1984, Ed enjoyed real estate investing, golf, hunting, travel, bridge, reading and politics. After joining St. Mark Presbyterian in Boerne in 1985, Ed served on the session, many committees and ministries, and in Mission Presbytery. Preceded in death by parents Gus and Mary Cross, first wife Dorothy and brother Benjamin. Survived by wife Lila, son Ed II and wife Nancy, daughter Susan and husband Dennis Vigil, stepson Rob Peters and wife Lorri, six grandsons-Edward III (Ted) and Charlie Cross, Daniel and David Vigil, and Doug and Jeff Peters, and twin sister Alice Eaton.
