Esther Ampelas, 84, of New Braunfels, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Sundance Inn Care Center. She was born to Thomas Dye and Ellen (Stonell) Dye in London, England on October 12, 1926. Esther married the love of her life Steven Ampelas in London England during WWII and to this union they were blessed with three daughters and two sons. She was a devoted wife and mother and loved the company of family and friends. She is survived by sons, Phillip Ampelas and wife Kathy and Steve Ampelas and wife Charlotte; daughters, Linda Williams and husband George, Susan D'Andrea and husband John, and Carol Bard and husband David; brothers, Fred, George and Teddy Dye; sister, Jeannie Nicholas; 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stephen Ampelas; grandson, Christopher Williams; and brothers, Harry, Alfred, and Tom. Public Visitation will begin 6:00 PM Friday at Zoeller Funeral Home and will continue until 9:00 PM. A Graveside Service will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Mission Burial Park South with Reverend Al Snyder officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to Hope Hospice.
