Floyd Harrison

HARRISON
Floyd J. Harrison passed away Sunday, December 1, 2013 at the age of 90. Born in Hominy, OK, he had 12 brothers and sisters. During WWII he enlisted in the Navy and following a combat tour in B-24's, was sent to Minneapolis, MN where he met the love of his life, Elsie. They were married in 1946 after his discharge from the Navy. As the Berlin Airlift had begun, he joined the Air Force and went to Germany. Floyd was a veteran of WWII, Korea, and Viet Nam. The family enjoyed many great duty stations over the years before his retirement in 1974 in San Antonio. Floyd was a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus, and he enjoyed golf, fishing, and reading. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Elsie G. Harrison and three grandsons. He is survived by his children, Barbara Luthy and husband, Richard; Nancy Saylor and life partner, James Jacobs; Jennifer Haggy and husband, Roger; Dan Harrison and Judy Thompson; Paula Coleman and husband, Paul; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Following the death of his wife, he enjoyed spending many years with his dear friend and companion, Nell. You may visit Floyd on Sunday starting at 5:00pm.
