Frank "Pete" Herrera

Frank "Pete" Herrera, born to Eugene and Guadalupe Herrera on June 29, 1924, went to be with the Lord at the age of 89. He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife, Dora Guerra Herrera, his siblings Eugene (Beatrice), Thelma Neaves (Horace), Emma, Antonio (Lacey), Consuelo Garza (Avelino), John (Lupe), Blas (Betty), Mary Alice Gomez (Albert) and Sylva Larralde (Raymond). Pete was the last of five Herrera brothers who proudly served in WWII. He is survived by his sisters, Adeline Herrera and Josephine Mancha (Daniel), along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, all who dearly loved their "Uncle Pete." He was especially close to his eldest nephew, Eugene Herrera Jr. The family wishes to thank Alice Garanzuay (niece) and Michael Herrera (nephew) for their loving care of Pete during his illness, and Odyssey Hospice. Visitation will be held Friday from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. in The Angelus Chapel. Visitation will begin again on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with a Rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Funeral services will conclude at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pete's memory to the Discalced Carmelite Nuns, 6301 Culebra at St. Joseph's Way, San Antonio, Texas 78238.
