Fred Clark

Fred Clark, age 69, a lifelong resident of San Antonio, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2013. Born in Austin, TX, on August 14, 1943, he was the son of Jesse James Clark and Carmen De La Cruz Clark. As a teenager, he made money shining shoes and delivering newspapers up and down Broadway. At age 17, he and his brother, Sonny, joined the Navy together. Upon his discharge from the Navy, he began his career in the beer business where he worked for 30 plus years for Jax Brewery, Pearl Brewery, Lone Star, Budweiser and Miller Lite. He then fulfilled a lifelong dream of being a pub owner, owning and running Easy Money on Nacogdoches. True to his hard work ethic, he worked 11 more years at Cintas until being called home. Preceded in death by his parents, brother, Rueben Cardenas and sister, Mary Schelper, Mr. Clark is survived by sons, Jeff Clark, wife, Sabrina, and Cary Clark; grandchildren, Kyra and Damon Clark; great granddaughter, Camryn Blair; brother, James "Sonny" Clark; sisters, Lucille Licht and Betty King; and numerous nieces and nephews. The Memorial Service will be on Friday, May 17 at 2:00 p.m. at Vaughan's Funeral Home, with Deacon Paul, Officiating.
