George Montegomery

MONTGOMERY
George Ray Montgomery, age 81, of San Antonio passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2013. He was born on December 14, 1931 in San Antonio, Texas. George graduated from Alamo Heights High School where after he joined the U.S. Navy and served four years active duty during the Korean War. George was a custom home builder here in San Antonio. He was an active member with the following organizations: Texas Order of St. Hubertus, The Order of the Alamo and First Baptist Church in Fredericksburg, Texas. George was preceded in death by his parents, Helen Gissi Montgomery and Alfred Collins Montgomery; his brother, Rex Montgomery; sisters, Virginia Lee Montgomery, Mary Helen Covin and brother-in-law, W. M. Covin. He is survived by his daughters, Laura M. McDonald, husband, Donald B. McDonald and Carrie L. Weinfeld and husband, David R. Weinfeld; grandson, Seth Montgomery McDonald and Phillip Emory Sandner; his sisters, Anne M. Hager and husband, Howard Hager, Carolyn R. Guthrie and husband, O.V. Guthrie; sister-in-law, Jean Montgomery and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to caregivers, Debbie Phillips, Seleste Pena and Lillian Moss with Odyssey Hospice. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 26, 2013 beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Porter Loring on McCullough.
