Glen Cook

Glen Monroe Cook was born May 16, 1930, in Detroit MI, and passed away peacefully at his home in San Antonio, Texas, on June 14, 2014, with family and friends at his side.
At an early age, the family moved to Cassville, WI, where Glen attended school. While in the Air Force he received his GED before his class graduated. Glen taught English in the GED program at St. Phillips.
Glen loved his country and her flag, served from 1947-1967. He became one of the "original Airmen" when the Army he had joined split to become the Air Force. His duties were Air Traffic Control and Air Operations. Conflicts during his 20 years were the Korean War, The Cold War and the Vietnam Era. This took him all over the world doing many things he choose not to talk about. Glen received the Air Force Good Conduct medal.
Glen was truly a gracious and giving man with such a big heart and a passion for flying. On his 80th birthday and again on his 81st, he skydived. Now, he can skydive every day. Glen was also a San Antonio Spurs Fan and was looking forward to the "Big win this year."
Glen is preceded in death by his parents Ivan and Gladys Cook, sons David Wane and Larry Lee, brother Harold and his first wife Winnie Mae Cook. He is survived by his wife Carol Ann Cook, daughters Donna Mae Cook, Elizabeth Ann Upchurch (Johnny), Catherine Ann White and Son Ronald F. White (Letty), 2 brothers, 3 sisters, 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and his beloved poodles, Maggie and Max.
The family would like to thank the wonderful people at U.S. Renal Care at Bandera Road, the Radiology Services at St. Luke's Baptist Hospital, the HEM/ONC Clinic at SAMMC and the compassionate people at Amedisys Hospice Care of San Antonio, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to a charity or hospice of your choice.
